What Is IPTV? A Plain-English Guide for Canadians

By the KemoTV support team · Updated August 28, 2026 · 5 min read

IPTV — Internet Protocol Television — delivers live TV channels and on-demand video over your internet connection instead of a cable line or satellite dish.

How it works

A provider streams channels from its servers. An app on your TV, stick or phone (the player) signs in with your login and shows those channels in a guide, just like a cable box.
