When a stream freezes, it's tempting to blame the provider. Sometimes that's right — but more often the bottleneck is inside the house. Work through these fixes from the top.
Fixes inside your home
- Restart everything. Unplug the router and streaming device for 30 seconds. It clears memory and renews your connection.
- Use wired or 5 GHz. An Ethernet cable (or adapter for Firestick) beats Wi-Fi. If you must use Wi-Fi, connect to the 5 GHz band, not 2.4 GHz.
- Switch to the hardware decoder. In TiviMate or Smarters settings, choose Hardware (HW) decoding.
- Clear the app cache. Settings → Applications → [player] → Clear cache.
- Pause other heavy traffic. Game downloads and cloud backups can starve a 4K stream.
Fixes on the stream
- Try the FHD or HD version. If 4K stutters, the lower-bitrate version of the same channel usually plays cleanly.
- Change DNS. Set your device or router to a public DNS such as 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8 — slow DNS can delay stream start.
- Check your speed at peak time. Run a speed test at 8 pm, not 8 am. You want 25 Mbps for 4K. See how much speed you need.
- Tell your provider. If one channel buffers and others don't, it's likely on our side — send us the channel name on WhatsApp and we'll reroute it.
